March 31, 2017 We have been notified by Mr. Mel Lofquist, grandson of shipmate Edward Haller, that Edward passed away last Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at age 94. Edward served aboard the Harry Lee from 1943 to 1945. After being inducted into the Navy in 1943, he was transported to the Pacific theater on the escort carrier USS Copahee (CVE-12), and then transferred to the Lee. Our thoughts and prayers are with Edward's family. |
