JIM VANNEST
that Jim has passed away on Tuesday, October 15.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim's family at this
very difficult time.

 
James L. Vannest, 88 of Grover, NC, passed away on October 15, 2013. A private memorial service will be held. Jim was born July 13, 1925 in Elmira, NY. He served his country in the Navy during WWII on the USS Harry Lee APA10 in seven campaigns from Sicily to Iwo Jima. He was a Senior Project Engineer at Fafnir Ball Bearing in New Britain, CT for 30 years. He was active in his church, various veterans' organizations and was involved in the Pulaski Parents Music Club, Pulaski High School, New Britain, CT. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis and is survived by five children; Chrisla (John) Petro-Roy of Collierville, TN, Dee (Roger) Hayes of Tega Cay, SC, James P.L. Vannest of Riverview, FL, Steven (Cathy) Vannest of Manchester, NH, and Douglas Vannest of New Britain, CT; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be given to the building fund at Grace Community Church, 1190 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC 29708.

Jim was also an accomplished photographer and has supplied us
with many great photos of the reunions.
